For Cambodian there are two types of Vowel, Normal Vowels and Independent Vowels. And In this lesson we will learn about Independent Vowels. What interesting for this vowel is that it is easier than Normal Vowels because it does not require an accompanying consonant. For one more thing, the /ɔɔ/ and /OO/ consonants rules do not apply to these vowels.

So, remember that learning Cambodian is not difficult like you have heard in past. Just experience yourself and start by learning with me.

Good Bye to My Best and Only One Korean Sisiter

On 02.03.2014 at 6.00 O'clock was the last time that I and with some other Cambodian friends gathered together to celebrate the last party for Korean Missionary who came to volunteer in Cambodia who is my best and friendly Korean sister called, "길 은정". She is very kind and best woman. She lived and work in Cambodia for about a year. And she also taught Cambodian children for Korean Language and Piano. She was either one of best and friendly or hard-work woman who never live in this developing country before. When I asked her she said that she never lived in this difficult situation before, in Korea she works as a Korean Clothes Designer and Korean Super Model but when she went to Cambodia her life changed to be a different woman. In this country she worked for a single day non-stop. From Monday to Saturday she taught Cambodian young children to learn Korean and Piano, that was very hard and very tired. On Sunday she had to come early in the morning to prepare for Sunday performance. She always looked very tired and not enough for the night sleep. Whenever, we met she always told me that she was tired and sick. I felt very sorry to hear that from her but I did not know how I could help her.

Above is just a short story about her, and here I will tell you why I said she is  "My Best and Only One Sister".

I was born in a normal family far away from the city called Kampong Thom province. I have a sister and younger brother and I am the oldest. I didn't have elder sister or brother even one. I used to think that one day I want to have. And today that I post this article because I want to tell the world that I now have a real sister as others, her name was "길 은정" in English "Gil Eun Jeong". Like I told above she is really kind and the best woman. She is single and good looking woman. May be if everyone saw her will fall in love with her immediately. Her eyes is black with her short hair make her really attractive woman. She has a younger brother as well in Korea.

First time I met her was in a Korean Restaurant named "BBQ Chicken" which is one of the most well-known delicious chicken restaurant ever in Korea and around the world. At about 1.00 o'clock in the afternoon was the lunch time for all Local and International guests who liked to spend special time there. And I worked as a front house service and during I was very busy serving food for people I was a good looking woman that was her my sister who sat in the table number A03. I was very glad so as soon as the ordered of her food came out I quickly served her and the language I talked to her was Korean but that time my Korea was not very well. I can only speak only some sentence such as "감사합니다" and some other sentences that use in restaurant. And when I talked to her in Korean she was very surprised and smile at me. Her face was trying to listen to what I want to say to her in that language. She admired me that my Korean pronunciation was very clear and good. She said that I could pronounce like Korean native speakers. And after she finished her lunch time, I again asked her some questions, "When did you arrive in Cambodia?, How long has she lived in Cambodia and so on" and she kindly told me some in Khmer and some in Korean. I could understand her because she not too fast. She told me that she lived in Cafe 105' in the street Mong Rithy. She taught Korean and Piano to Cambodian Children And she also gave her address and phone number so that I could contact her later.

Appointment with my real Korean sister,

After we know each other not so clear, I tried to leave her messages in English many time a day. And she seem to be busy so she could replied me back for only one a day as well. I didn't mind of that but actually she was very kind to me at all time whenever she leave me messages, even her meaning was very short but I could fully understand about that all. And after after that, I decided to make a appointment with her because I wanted to know her more. She said ok and we met at Cafe 105' in the afternoon at 1.15. We had a very good time together and also a very special chatting that relation of sister and brother happened there at that time. She also took a photo of her with me together and gave me some of her beloved books to me as well.

Another time we met again, she never late for the appointment and the second time we met was at Lucky Supermarket near Angten Toulkork. She was still kind and good heart woman and I asked to be my sister. And she glad to have me as her brother as well. She had a brother and I would be her first or may be second of her brother in her family but I didn't care at all, but her love gave me I never forget which expressed through her eyes, her words and how she acted on me.

Last Words will last forever from her,

I really want to thank to her very much,  now she may be  read this article and know how much I really love her, what she acted on me, and what she remind me every time I also never forget, "Sengthai, try to study Korean harder I wish you can go to study in Korea soon"  This always with me everywhere and every time. Thanks Sister, I love you and you was the first and only one real sister who gave me warm love and heart,
